My first post about things that I love: futbol and branding and since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa just happen I think its the perfect time to talk about futbol and branding. In 2002 while visiting my aunt in Barcelona and backpacking through Spain, I had the experience of going to a FC Barcelona game at Camp Nou. Little that I knew about the history of the Club and its branding. I have to say that I got to see great players such as Rivaldo, Riquelme, Kluivert, Saviola, Luis Enrique to name a few!

Virtually anybody with a connection to the Internet can set them self up as an expert. Case in point: Individuals with Flip video are producers, their theatre of choice being YouTube. We'd all agree some are better than others.
There seems to be a similar bandwagon to jump to when it comes to branding. Everybody's an expert.

Jimmy Buffett... now there's a master marketer that gets "brand" if ever there was one. He figured out a long time ago that a logo is not your brand. It's not even the starting point to build a brand. Building a brand is an ongoing, elegant blend of strategic thinking and meeting the needs of the target market.
